Be the first person to comment.

I was reading Darren’s Blog. When it stated “Be the first to comment on new posts. Just make the post meaningful and everybody who comes to read those comments will see your take on the matter.

People appreciate information that you provide and will visit your site.”

I could not nod my head any more. If I did It would be broken. That’s true. If you’re first to comment the chances are that more people will see your comment and the link to your site. So if your post is highly relevant and has good info, there’s a good chance they will visit your site. But don’t go spamming blogs, that will make things worse.

Are you turning away potential visitors ?

A internet report said that “44% of US households have broadband internet access”  So it’s possbile your site might have good content, but because the page takes too long to load, your visitors will get frushtrated and won’t come back. You could do a survey of visitors to your site asking them what type of internet connection they are on. Or maybe make a “lite” version of your site. ( www.yourdomain.com/lite). This would also increase user loyalty.

The easy way to get Pagerank 5

It’s been long known that pagerank will increase how often your site gets indexed, and how “deeply” it will get indexed. That’s why having a higher pagerank is a good advantage over your competition. There’s a great little trick to get pagerank 5. Go to Matt Cutts Blog , post comments with anchor text in the name field. But some anchor texts won’t work. It’s also a good idea to go back to posts on Matt’s blog from last year. Because they have already got pagerank..

Choosing the correct Template

Choosing the correct template can make the difference between users going to your site and users going to your competitions site. Your template design should not be the first factor. The most important factor should be usability and easy navigation. Getting to know what type of users you have will also be a factor. For example, if a lot of your users are on dial-up, you should use a “lite” template. One that loads quick. Some important factors to reason with when choosing a template are.

- What the users want

- Color’s/design

- Pracicality and easy navigation

- Maximixing Adsense income

Notice how I put Adsense last?, without readers your blog won’t get any income.

How often should one post?

Well if you look around the net you will find that the sites with the highest pagerank, most readers, most comments (normally) , and content will be Blogs that have a lot of posting. Here’s another way to think about it. : The more posts (content) on your site, the more content that will get indexed, meaning the more traffic that is possible to come from search engines. It will also give reason for your readers to return. So post as much good quality content as you can.
